Strange problem!

Ok this is a very strange one to me, My '95 4Runner when cruising down the highway at a steady speed and you hit the brakes while still staying the same speed the rpm's jump up about 500 rpm's until you let off. Anyone else ever had this happen?

Could it be because you're trying to apply the brakes while maintain the same speed?

I guess I don't understand the question?

I think he's talking about if you are going down a hill.

It's just the torque converter unlocking.
