Stock tranny for a 302 safe for...

I am contemplating installing my 302 out of my mustang into my wifes 87 4runner.Would the stock toyota tranny be strong enough for daily driving? We may drive it every other day so it won't be too bad.It see's the trail maybe a few times a year and we will have our kids with us so there wouldn't be hard driving.I also have the t-5 out of the stang too and I know these aren't the strongest trannys but I would like to use what I have for now.I have done the searches but would like to know if the ones I have would be good enough for easy driving, not the strongest I should use.

Dunno ... a 302 is more than twice the cubes of that 22RE. Downey Off-Road doesn't think it is a good idea.

You know your gonna beat on it, cause its got torque!

Id just put the T-5 in it, with a transfer case on it, and have a custom cross member and driveshafts made for it.

I probably would get on it a few times.I would like to be able to bolt in a tranny without having custom parts made.If it gets too involved like that then I'll just have the 22re built up a bit more and regear the tuck.It sure would be nice to have a v8 though.
