That really does suck... Maybe you should have locked the back window?

Why, so he could replace a busted rear window too? My guess is they probably just popped the lock, having seen first-hand how easy it is when a person whom I won't name locked his keys in his car while airing down his tires before going offroading.....

Yup, that's the truth. That's why I always bury the siren behind the dash, rather than under the hood. You get a 130dB+ siren going off inside the passenger compartment where the thief is trying to take your stuff, he might have just a little bit harder of a time.

And even if he gets everything in there, at least I know I hurt him a little.

Well the insurance wont do crap until i dig up my reciepts. I may not get another system unless a make a lock for the back window (besides the plastic one that they popped off) but if i do that they may just break a window. Thats what happened to one of my buddies at work, they broke a window to get his subs. I would rather not have music than no window.

My friend told me about some sirens for like $35. they are called pain generators. Supposed to be loud enugh to blow your eardrums! After i get an alarm i am going to get a couple of those and see how they work.

Whoa, there's an idea!
Anyone know how hard it is to install a 2nd siren into a present system?

I feel for ya man ... I had a similiar incident in my school parking lot, though it wasn't my stereo. They tried to rip off my antenna and stole the inner fender mud flaps. The next day I got an alarm. What's with security at school now-a-days?!?!?!

If you're talking about a college campus - depending on where it is, it can be one of the best places to rip off a car or parts from it. The internet being what it is I won't elaborate.

Just be aware and take the necessary precautions.

It should be quite simple; at worst all you need to do is wire in a relay. Many alarm systems have auxiliary alarm outputs in the 'brain' (to do silly things like make your parking lights flash - always a great theft deterrent) so if you have a free aux output all you'd have to do is wire the siren up to that.

Even without an aux output, you should be able to wire a relay to close when the siren that's already present activates; add 12V constant source and the siren and you're all set.

Yes, I am talking about a college campus. I would say that our lots are basically a parts store ... it's pretty bad.
