Steering Gear box replacement

i need a kind of step by step on how to replace my steering box. The chiltons sucks. Some one with real experience would help greatly. I bent my steering box in a car accident and now it always pulls to the left. I found one at a u-pull-it and i need to know how to replace it and how hard the pitman arm is to take off. I heard it was really really hard. Also, how do i allign everything correctly to make sure when my steering wheele is straight so are my wheels. Also what do i use to break apart ball joints?! thank you

I'll chime in before the folks who've just gotten off of Pirate 4X4 and haven't switched back to regular mode:
It really helps to have some vehicle information. A 1986 4Runner is very different from a 2003 Tacoma.
Don't know if you tried it, but there's a search button below the banner. 'Steering Box' should bring up at least a couple of threads (hopefully with links!).
If you happen to have an '89 4Runner, I can try to get some info from my Factory Repair Manual, but it might take awhile.
