Spontaneous headlights?

This is weird...
My 2000 Tacoma appears to have turned on it's lights spontaneously. I haven't driven it for days, weather has been cold and raining a little, the doors were locked, light switch was off and the head/tail lights were on. Hadn't been on for long and I was able to start the engine.
Light switch had no effect but after I turned on the heater fan, I could turn the lights off.
Has this happened to you?

Aaaand it happened a second time. Just as before, doors were locked and switch was off. Tried a few things but the lights didn't turn off until I turned on the heater fan. Battery is disconnected and on charge now.

Closest thing I've had happen on my '99 4Runner was the driver door switch got flaky and it wouldn't notice the driver door opening and would leave the DRL(ish) lights on when I got out and left the car. I normally just leave the switch on all the time, and they go on and off with the car.

FIXED IT (?)
Charged the battery, wiggled relays for light and heater, turned light switch on and off 60 times, same for heater switch, drove about a mile. Made it overnight without the lights coming on again.
