I ahve searched the forums and cant seem to find any solutions. I have a 96 runner and the speedo does not work at all but the milliage still counts. They say that it is electronic, I checked the connections and all seems fine. The dealer wants 110 bucks for the sensor, I would like to make sure that thats the problem befor I buy the part. Anyone have any expieriance with this.

 

Most of the time its the sensor not the speedo

 

If the mileage still counts, the sensor is O.K.. The speedmeter and odometer are run from the same sensor.

 

So where do I go from there if the sensor is good, do you think its the cluster. I think I can get a hold of 1 to try it.

 

I would say the same thing. if the mileage is still counting then its most likely the cluster.
