I didn't see this until today. Sorry for the long delay in the reply. This board moves posts down fast.

To answer your questions:

Wosrt case scenario would be a blown engine. Most likely what would happen is that it simply wouldn't run or it would run ˟˟˟˟˟ty. You prolly wouldn't have to upgrade the fuel system as there is plenty of headroom in the system to allow some more air to flow. You could also look into an oversized Throttle body as a lot of people seem to really notice a nice improvement with those on these engines. There are several companies that make them for these engines. Cost is around $260 with a core.

You could still do the ECT mod, but I'd try just Advancing the timing first.

Would your reccomend the Magnacore wires, and the iridium plugs you have for a 88' 3.0?
Did thay make any difference for you?

FIPK = Fuel Injection Performance Kit

These are made by K&N. Just do the ISR mod for the 3.0 instead. It's way cheaper and a lot more effective.

I bought the Magnecor's for cheap insurance and piece of mind. I did notice easier cold starts after installing them. The Iridium's are nice, but no better than ordinary plugs on my truck it seems. They may work better for you since your spark energy output from your ignition system is most likely lower than the 3.4's.

I just did the ISR removal mod yesterday.
It seems to be a little quicker and more responsive. and it makes a nice roar when accelerating!
I like it so far. I am looking for an AMSOIL air filter next. I will have to order it.
I think I am going for the NGK V-power plugs. I don't think the extra cost of the iridiums is worth it for my old engine.

Do you have a 22RE? Amsoil doesn't make a filter for the 3.slo. K&N, KoolBlue, and that new green filter are the options for us with that 3vze.

I may be wrong, but I was on the Amsoil website and checked for one for the 3.0. According to the site, they have one the filter number is AF894. but it is listed as a Hastings
I am about to order one for my truck. The site says it takes 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. I will let you know if it is actually the right filter.
