Spark plug question

Yeah it doesnt really matter whether you run the dual or the single--just know that if you run singles you have to change them more often.

Mine are iridium Plats--like i said--just because--I guess because i have just gotten the motor rebuilt and just wanted a little unseen bling.

Because they are NOT THE EXACT SAME THING. The difference is in the precious metal that they use. I.e. Copper, Platnium, Iridium. If you like changing your spark plugs, go ahead a put the copper ones in. You will get worse gas mileage and worse performance. If you want the plugs to go 60K or so, put the platniums in. I got 110K off my original plugs in my T4R and they were worn but not worn out. I got 144K off my Laser Platniums in an Acura Legend. Let's see if you get that out of a $1-2 regular plug, I doubt you will.

BTW, our engines were designed with 1 specific kind of spark plug. I am playing it safe and using that specific one. My, what peace of mind it brings.........
And I bought them for $2.22 ea! I believe they are about $10/ea at the dealer. Yep, hard to believe but I checked the number on the plug box.

Local auto parts store called Parts Plus. They have direct buying power from Denso.

That is cheap for a dealer. They have always been $8-$10 per plug here. You could sell them on this forum and make money at that price.

No, there are people that know where to get stuff. Sparkplugs.com and etc.......

Just google your part number and you will get a good price

Totally agree! But if you read my post on the first page, I paid $2.22 ea which is still way cheaper than on the internet anywhere. The very last place I would get spark plugs is the dealer!

NGK spark plugs feature what is known as Trivalent plating. This silver or chrome colored finish on the threads is designed to provide corrosion resistance against moisture and chemicals. This coating also acts as a release agent during spark plug removal. NGK spark plugs are installed at the factory dry, without the use of anti-seize. NGK tech support has received a number of tech calls from installers whom have over-tightened spark plugs because of the use of anti-seize. Anti-seize compound can act as a lubricant altering torque values up to 20 percent, increasing the risk of spark plug thread breakage.
