Spare Aisin Hub....
If anybody has a spare Aisin L/O hub lying around, could they look at the back of it (the hub body where it faces with the wheel)
and see if there is a washer behind the smaller of the two snap rings? Mine does not, however I bought them used and they have quite a bit of noise in operation. TFSM, Haynes, 4x4wire and Toyota Bible are all very vague on this. In fact they don't even really cover rebuilding the hub body just the cap and pawl etc.
Thanks

There should be a thin washer between the splined collar and the ring that goes around it, basically the other side of the assembly with the smaller snap ring that you can see from that side. I can take a pic this evening if you need it to help clarify.
Here's a decent writeup, and you can see it in this pic second from left. The ring on the far left has a brass bushing built into it which can wear as well, but the only way to get a replacement is to buy a whole hub.

Tahnk You!
Well, I guess I have assembled it properly, it is just old and worn, kind of like me. The brass busshing is just worn out of spec. It works OK for now just noisy at times. Thanks again for the info! I am suprised the TFSM does not cover dissasembly of the hub body part?!
