the lateral rod (panhard rod) bushings can be replaced. However, toyota sells the bushings as part of the rod. so what you can do is search for PU bushings and modify them to fit.

Yep. I discovered the same thing yesterday, too.

Bushings were fine, but the bolts allowed about 1/16-1/8" of play in the rod because they were so worn around their mid sections. Easy fix.

Interesting find. Any pics of the worn bolts?

I finally replaced my pan hard rod and bolts! It is crazy how much a little bit of play in this rod messed up my steering. Was getting to be quite a hand full on the highway! Now its staight as an arrow.

this really caused me a lot of headache. I could feel it in the frame, and was really causing strange thing to happen. It seems to be a common problem. MAKE SHURE YOU PUT GREASE ON THE BOLTS

very much appreciate the solution being posted. Too many threads with questions and not enough with actual answers.

Very helpful J-money$$$

those of you guys that are super lifted in the rear may need the panhard relocation bracket-I believe Toytec sells.

Example being the (front) LandCruiser springs in rear of a 3rd gen Runner.
