SNORKEL 2001 4runner?

SNORKEL 2001 4runner?

i want to install a safari snorkel from ARB tomorrow on my 2001 4runner ,now can someone tell me if this is going to efect engine performance in any way or will it be the same as not having a snorkel at all ,im not looking for someone to tell me that its gonna protect my engine from water ,im just wondering if its gonna give me poor engine performance thnak you?

I don't think it will hinder the performance at all. The piping for the Snorkel is larger than that of your intake so you should be alright. Besides the faster you go the more air gets pushed in...kinda like a ramjet.

Plus you will be getting the "TRUE" cold air intake. Not the hot stuff from the engine bay. Ive heard nothing but good things about them. ENJOY!!!

I think your gonna need the taco tube too for your 4runner, i dunno which years came with it or came without it. I know the earlier ones came with it.

Didn't effect my engine performance. It does keep the air a lot cooler compared to the stock intake. I know this because of me and my buddy both have scangauges and the 2.7 and mine was at least 30degrees cooler than his.

30 deg??? That's quite a difference. I figured it would help a bit but not that much. Good to know.

if your really worried about it being able to breathe you could always do the imfamous deck plate mod. So you can take off the cover for DD and put it back on for wheeling
