$100

I remember seeing that they were around $100. From Maxx Autoworks I think. They won't help you unless you've figured out a way to run cooler though. They generate too much heat.

Good luck unless you have made arrangements to provide your engine with lots more fuel.

www.pulleyboys.com and not Maxx Autoworks.

Chris

P.S. You really need a way to keep the heat down, such as a intercooler or water injection of some type, unless you live at altitudes of 5K or higher.

I highly recommend you stay the hell away from a smaller pulley.

Some folks that live at altitudes of 5K and higher have found that they can easily run the 9 psi pulleys without any fuel mods because the air at those altitudes is less dense, which results in less heat, which allows for the use of the smaller pulleys.

I am at over 5k in Albuquerque...I wish I had a clutch that would hold the 6psi pulley though.

That's too bad, because you'd probably be fine trying it out at that elevation.

Well,,,,,

We all know that the stock fuel and engine control system is fine for a normally aspirated truck at sea level.

A truck at 5000 feet MSL with a TRD Supercharger makes about the same power as a normally aspirated truck does at sea level.

Anyway do yourself and your truck a favor and stay the hell away from a smaller pulley. You are not likely to get any more top end power anyway.

Yeah, I don't think I need more boost. I hear tell of a Taco out here running 14psi, they say he built some type of intercooler, I haven't seen it yet, but that's nutz.

So, Gadget, have you put the ATC clutch in yet? From what I have read from you and others it looks like the best one out right now, do you agree? They say it will hold 408ft lbs, I'm sure I won't reach that.

Gadget,

You always say this, but why would it be bad for his case where there isn't going to be excess heat buildup from running the smaller pulley?

He is not saying this purely because of heat, you also need to figure atmospheric pressure...that is why of the hp difference at different altitudes, not because of heat.

My point exactly! Up at the higher altitudes that atmospheric pressure is less, so the need for a smaller pulley to achieve the same boost could be used, right?

We all know that the stock fuel and engine management system can handle a normally aspirated engine at sea level perfectly.

A supercharged truck at 5000 MSL makes the same power as a normally aspirated truck does at sea level.

If you stay with the stock pulley at 5000 feet MSL you are restoring sea level performance, the truck will be faster then everything around it, and you will have NO ISSUES with driveability, HG/LR-Ping, high RPM leanout, or any other problem that requires and expensive solution. You can just bolt it on and be a happy camper.

Stay away from a smaller pulley.

I would be a happy camper if my clutch would hold up.

Not to bitch and moan (which means that's just what i'm going to do) but if you want patience, drive your n/a 4Runner up to 11k every weekend of ski-season. Accellerate in 3rd, shift to 4th, slow back down, shift to third, repeat (and throw fith gear away).

Sadly it doesn't look like supercharger money is going to come my way before this winter. Patience...

Yes. Things are progressing well. We made a suprise visit to one of our prospective venders today to check out thier facility. We wanted to be sure they were the right people to do business with and to ensure the quality of their work was up to your standards and mine.

I also wanted to know these things before we mail off a check for $11,000 to start building our inventory for the fuel kits. Tomorrow, it is off to another vender...
