Slight pause after turning key in ignition

So when I turn the key in the ignition to crank the truck up there is a slight pause before the starter engages and it cranks.

Is this an indicator of something to come?

Bad starter contacts perhaps?

Thanks.

Prob just a corroded connection somewhere. Battery terminals, block to ground, starter terminal, or finally failing starter. Start checking wires.

Do you have an anti-theft immobilizer by any chance?
Mine do that sometimes.

If the pause starts getting longer than I would bet it's the starter. Mine did this for a while. Mostly in the cold though and not daily.

So I cleaned up the ground on the battery and the one on the frame and cleaned up around the starter contacts. It's gone but it's only been a few days. I'll try to remember to post again in a month or so. If I don't, assume that fixed it.

Moving out west in three months. Grand plans for scoring a cap, doing the mini-header install, cleaning TB, and sorting out the P0441 (likely just replace the VSV).

Might be threading from Seattle next time.
