Sliderz article updated
Added two new entries this morning to the sliderz round-up article.
Phong's & Ro's Runner.
If anyone else takes the plunge anytime and gets a pair, be sure to drop me a line and I'll add them to the page.

Hey Corey;
I like the slider pictures but I don't want
anything that aggressive on mine. And
I don't care for the look of the running
board. Do step tubes (sorry if that's not
the right name for them) offer any kind
of protection for the side from road and
off road kick-ups?

Hi Cindy. Yes, nerf bars avaialbe from Smittybilt, Weston, and others will offer parking lot protection, and a way to stand on the rig while washing it.
But for protection in the woods if you go on any trails, then no.
They will bend.
There are a few guy's now making bolt on sliderz for your year of rig.
Roger Brown just designed some bolt ons for the 3rd gen, as well as the ones that Mike (Xtreme Off-Road) on the forum here sells.
If you want to keep the paint chip free on the side of your rig while off roading too, you will need some flaps.
If you don't intend on using the bars for getting up against rocks, or stumps, then plain old nerfs will do it.
I went to Perf's website and plugged in your 2002 rig.
I hope this long URL here takes.
That will show you what's available for your rig if you don't want to go the sliderz route.

Yahhhh, got Mark Mason's covered twice in the roundup.
Steve, do you get 4WD & SUV magazine?
The new issue is not out yet on the stands, but I get it via snail mail.
Mark Mason of Kong's has an article in there on his tubed 1st gen 4Runner.
They have articles on their site, but they don't put the new mag info in until my issue hits the local newstands.
Your sliders are dirty. I have just the thing for them.
The new battery powered
Porter Cable.
Now you can buff them thar sliderz while out in the wilderness.
No excuse for dirty dingy slidrez now while out in the outback.
Batteries included.

triple duty sliders
I may be getting off topic a bit but,
Some place in my ramblings around the net, I came across a page where this guy used his custom built sliders as air tanks for his onboard air. He ran a compressor out of a Caddy (salvaged) and lines into and out of his 3" pipe (I think) sliders. I thought it was a sweet setup, nothing like having your sliders do triple duty.
Me being the half asleep fool I am, forgot to add that page to my list, and now I can't find it again. If anybody out there knows what I'm talking about pls. post a link, I'ld like to go back there.
Thanks
