Skweeking noise

When I was out in the mud yesturday I noticed this new noise. When trying to turn the wheels at a stop or a hard turn it sounds like my ower steering pump is skweeking and the truck doen't turn. Was thinks it was because of the bigger tires? Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Quick checks, maybe low on fluid ?? or belt worn ??

This probably isn't it and you have already checked it but it could be the steering stops...sometimes mine will squeak, most of the time its just a really loud popping but if they make the right amount of contact and have the right amount of pressure on them they tend to squeak...just a thought.

its not the stops, its not that type of noise, more along the lines of the pump just sounding very tired

Its probably just a loose belt, mine is startin to make that noise again so I'm gonna have to get the belts tightened...it squeaks just sittin there at idle, SOOO freakin annoying!

It probably got wet, started slipping, and then got glazed. Time to toghten it up or replace the belt. If that doesn't do it, it might actually be the pump. As you seem to know already, bigger tired put a bigger strain on the pump and can cause it to wear out pre-maturely. Your options in that case are to rebuild it, with the righ tools, or replace it.
