Simple question

I have an 89 Pickup that says "Toyota" in letter's in the grille. I was wondering if I could get the grille of the newer 2nd gens that just has the Toyota emblem in the middle, and if it would just bolt right in place of the old one.

I don't like the look of aftermarket grilles too much, so I want to stick with a factory clean look.

Please

Thanks

Juggalo

i dont really know the answer but i know some guys with newer trucks that would rather have the t-o-y-o-t-a rather than the 3 ovals. ask around i bet someone might trade you, however i dont think its a direct swap. KyLe

2nd Gen grill compatibility

Ive always wanted to swap out the grill, headlamp frames, and headlamp units from my 91 that has square lamps and the "Toyota" emblem to the 95 style with the "T" emblem and flat headlamp system. I dont remember what the connection from the grill to the headlamp frames looks like. I know how it is on mine and removed the grill unit on my buddies 93 & 94 but remembering that would just be to much. I would have to put my money on it that it is possible to just get a late 2nd gen style grill and replace your early 2nd gens grill. The thing to do is look at the newer style one. You will be looking for 2 holes on each end of the grill. These holes are where the marker lamp units connect to the grill. The difference is how the headlamp frames are formed around the headlamp. Where it connects may be the same but dont quote me on it til you know for sure. Blue

Pic is worth a thousand....ok, a few words - since it's kinda hard to tell with the Rustybilt in front of the grille.
