Which shocks to get?

I am currently at 70,000 miles and I think I want to replace my shocks. I want my ride to be more stiff than stock. Iam thinking about getting bilsteins, but not sure I want to spend that much. What are some other suggestions?

I have set of 2001 4x4 coil, but plan on putting on the '99 4x4 coils when I install the shocks. Will this make a difference?

i installed a set of tokico trekmasters from steve at http://www.sonoransteel.com/ replaced the factory ones at 148k ride is good its firm but not to stiff stays flatter around corners

KYB Monomax's and they are great. You can get a pretty good deal on them from ebay. And of course bilstein.

How much are you looking to spend? The bilsteins aren't that much more expensive. I think they're in the ballpark of $65 each. To put that in perspective, O'Reilly sells Monroe Reflex and Sensatrac for about $70 and $90 each, respectively. Bilsteins are also the ones Toyota will install on TRD Tacomas (they're labeled Toyota/Bilstein).

I think I am going to try the Trek Masters. Anything would beat my 3 worn out and one blown stock shocks

i know i saved at least $250 bucks by doin it my self its not that hard
