Question Shocks for '97 Tacoma

I have a '97 4 cylinder Tacoma 4x4 with 147k on it. The front and rear shocks are shot. I do no off-roading, just streets and beach. I'm looking for good riding, not overly expensive shocks. Any and all help is appreciated!

I have to say that after I had my Bilsteins for a while, I started to hate them for how harsh the ride was. However, I just sounddeadened the doors on my 4Runner and it has taken a LOT of the harshness away from the shocks. Hopefully when I do my body mounts it will be even smoother. But now, I love them again and think they ride great.

I have a 97 Tacoma too. It has about 125,000 on the shocks-at least I think so. I am pretty sure the previous owner never changed them. It rides OK, but I bet new shocks would help. I'm keeping an eye on this thread to see how it turns out. The Bilsteins are highly recommended here, but most say they are a little stiff. I go offroad very little, so I don't know if I want Bilsteins.

I know they're good, but I have the same fear about the Bilstein's riding too stiff. Some other threads had warnings about that. I'm looking at Monroes Sensa-Trak too. Maybe someone will have some experience with them.

If you guys are worried about the Bilstein's being too stiff then you should definitely check out the Monroe's
