Shock replacement tip
Just put new shocks on the Flamed truck. Migod what a difference! I've had Rancho 5000 (stiff but good control,) Pro Comp es whatever comes with the kit (utter crap) Skyjacker Nitros (started out stiff but went to crap quickly) and Bilstien yellows (excellent!) on Yotas, and the ones I just replaced are the ones that came with the Trailmaster lift. I put ProComp MX6 adjustables on there. It made an astounding difference - it feels almost like my F150! (which has Bilsteins.)
Anyway, the reason for the post was if anyone has changed gas shocks you know how hard it can be to get em in. In the past I've banded them and then jacked the truck up to let the suspension extend until they lined up. Problem is the front IFS doesn't flex much... So I grabbed a ratchet strap and that worked like a charm! -see pic below- Not only that but I also used it to pull the rear shocks onto the studs - the bushings are tight and did not want to slide on!
