Shackle / Torsion bar lift

Shackle / Torsion bar lift
I want to add a tiny bit more lift to my truck, seeing as I'm not wanting to spend alot of money, I figured I would take advantage of cranking the torsion bars. Though I have a few questions.
What are the disadvantages to doing shackle / torsion bar crank lift? I'm only wanting to go about an 1".
As I'm collecting parts while its cold outside, what all should I get or would you get if you were doing it? Including new bushings etc. stuff that should replaced while I'm at it.
If this going to affect my shocks at all? I remember reading something about spacing the front shocks down a bit.
I appreciate any help, I know this topic is talked about often, I just figured I would ask questions I didn't quite understand and at the same time get it in one thread.
