Question Service Manuals on CD???

Check it out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...670523824&rd=1

Now I've read posts in the past where Bob and others advise against these, but I'm curious if anyone has bought one more recently? This guy claims that there is a fast index:

"You will be able to search for your vehicle by year, make and model and quickly access all the information that you need...."

Judging by his feedback, a lot of people have been happy with it.
I'm in a hurry right now and don't want to spend $200 at the stealer, any input??

That is not the factory service manual. The factory manuals are specific to
a specific model and year. You can find them on e-bay on CD. I got one for
my '02 Tacoma and it is made using the original PDF's used to print the factory
manuals. There is no table of contents or Index but you can (and must) search
to find what you're looking for. There seem to be many third party manuals
available on CD on e-bay, many of them obscure the fact that they're not the
"real" manuals.

Ditto on what jwahaus said... What you're pointing at isn't what he's leading it up to be.

The real service manuals are usually about $50-80/set on eBay... Try this search to find them (though I don't see any there now):

There was ONE set of CD's which were pretty good, but I think they've gone out of print. Keep an eye out for the "Mitchell" series of repair CD's.

Past that... I have mixed feelings on service manuals on CD. You're usually looking for a service manual while you're working on your truck, and that means you're in the garage or the parking lot. That's not the kind of place that you'll find a PC, and greasing up a laptop keyboard is kindofa drag.
