Question Second battery location for 1st gen.

The air filter is in the exact place I want to put a second battery, in my 85 Runner. So I was thinking about putting on a cone filter up by the intake (Cool Blue - K&N - whatever) thus freeing up room for a battery.
Is there any kits out there to safely do this? Has anyone done this? Is it worth doing? What about the Airflow Meter?
I want a second battery for future off-road lights, a winch, on board power inverter, ect......
Any help would be appreciated guys, Thanx,
Dan

k&n won't do it. the guy i bought my 4runner from had the k&n fipk put on. the cone filter goes in the same place as the stock airbox. i think the intake is too high on the engine to put a cone filter there. the hood would hit it.

You still need the meter, the computer won't let it run without it. You can put a very short piece of hose from the TB to the air meter, then a cone filter on the other end of the meter, but it's getting tight with the original battery still there. I'm trying to figure out the same thing, and will probably end up mounting the 2nd battery behind the passenger seat with heavy cables running forward. Not sure what else would work.

I dunno about a battery inside the cab, Would'nt you be worried about gasses escaping as it cycles? I've heard some horror stories about improperly vented batteries.
