OK...I got the '01+ grill on my Runner today, but no emblem yet because I need to figure out how the front emblem attaches. Does it attach via screws? If so...I guess I'll have to take the screws off my old grille and use them right? Well...this emblem has 3 posts versus the other emblem that only has 2...what do I do?

I've searched and searched.

The reason I need this done so soon is because the guy that I go to for all my little detail stuff is booked until next week so he won't be able to do my emblems and I think it looks weird to have no front emblem on the Runner.

So any help is appreciated. I searched around for Brians (waskillywabbit) info from when he did his grille swap but no such luck there.

I ordered an 02 grill and emblem. the emblem does NOT come with screws, at least mine didn't. You will need to get some, but if oyu take the emblem to a hardware store, you can get them easy.

p.s. i have had my 02 grill for months now and the emblem is still sitting in my toolbox. it doesn't look that bad.

p.s. are you paying someone to mount your grill and "install" your emblem???

 

Not the grill...I am having my buddy do my emblems for me but hes doing it for free cause I help him with his 4wheeler all the time so its kind of a trade off.

Sounds like I need to go get some screws then!

On my 96 I had to unscrew a small phillips head from the back of the grille to remove the emblem. it is centered in the middle of the emblem and you will need a very short screwdriver to do it. good luck with your grille!

 

Turns out to much of my dismay...I stressed for about an hour about what to do about the extra screw...I then realized that it only needed 2. I popped the grille off (I love doing stuff at the dealer cause I get to use all their cool tools, they had this cool things for removing the grille's, you just put all these little buttons on top of the snaps for it and press it down and bam, its off). It was pretty cool to say the least.

So I've got the Limited grill on the Runner and the black pearl emblem! I'll post some pics as soon as I can find that extra SD card I had laying around here.

Now I just gotta get the rest of the emblems done and I'll be all set!

Here are the pics of the new grille and black pearl Toyota logo emblem mounted. Looks pretty darn good, I like the look of this grille A LOT more than the look of the '99 grille, much more solid look to it!
