Ahh.. Thats an ebay special "Megan Racing Style Scoop"! Please, Please, PLEASE don't use it! A buddy of mine tried to stick one to his 3rd gen. Looked sooooooooo terrible! Sticks on with lovely 3M tape, and is hot glued together!

IF, the rig is going to get painted anyway,, I think IF you stick it on with the tape, then got some Bondo and smoothed it out all the way around the scoop really good, making it look like the hood was made with it, then paint it, it might turn out pretty good,

Ahhhhh CRAP..... I just bought that scoop from Mega Racing. 20 Bucks. Got it in the mail Friday.

I was gonna Post a thread asking which way to point it. IE: Scoop towards the front of the truck or scoop towards the Windows (Water and crap wont get in this way)

Maybe Ill post pics tonight. and be the dummy to try this thing....

Ok,while the 3rd gen scoop is just factory rice it's still acceptable but adding a fake scoop is kinda dumb and will look just like a stick on piece that it is,don't do it.

The reason I bought the scoop is because My engine bay gets REALLY Hot, even the fenders get hot.

So I figured I buy this puppy cut a hole and stick it on. I will of course Bondo the Scoop on and paint it.

Ill post pics tonight when I get home.

I installed functional fender vents on a car a few years ago, they worked great and looked good. There are a few styles on this page: http://www.erebunicorp.com/accessories.htm The ones I used were similar to the SA16s and I put them on the side of the fenders (like the BMW vents.) They really helped let some heat out.

Aww heck, Its your rig....You gotta live with it if it looks crappy. Worst case, You gotta replace the hood and repaint it. Do it....Do it....Let us know how it looks!

Personalize it, trick it out, make it unique, who cares what anyone else thinks, you're the one who has to drive it. If you don't like how it turns out take it off and try a little bit bigger one the next time. that Link to eribuni offers several more interesting choices. I say take your time and make it a nice smooth seamless install. It could turn out really nice.

Good Luck.

Yeah if I do put it on I'll smooth it out so it looks like it came like that.
