hey im new.. iv got a 97 black sr5 and ill have many many questions for u all over time but il start with this one (i apologize if this has been disscussed befor) but i was wondering who all has done the dec plate mod and does it work or just sound like a beast? also im looking for a center rear bumper for a 96-98 4runner sr5 if any of u all happen to have one id like to buy it.

 

Yes the deckplate does work, it sounds better, but not too loud. If you want a beastly sound and more of a performance improvement, do a search on the isr mod. Both are real ez and cheap and worth the money.

Hey there, welcome to the forums. LOTS of people here have done the deckplate mod, and I think all would agree that it does work. Many people also do that in conjunction with the ISR mod.

The deckplate mod is covered in the FAQ's and we have write-ups for both mods in our Tech section. If you do a search on either one, you'll find lots of good reading material.

Read up on it and try it out, you'll be glad you did!
