Im just east of pittsburgh and its been snowing for 24hrs now. Its 2am and snowing like crazy out. Looks like over a foot so with another 6+ by mid-day monday.Have'nt seen this much snow since the blizzard of 93.I also did'nt own a 4runner then, but today i do and i was crusing around town looking for unplowed streets and alleys. The 4runner performed without any problems. I was looking for deeper stuff and running thru the snow that the plow trucks made. Its days like today that im glad i own a 4runner and i can depend on it when needed.

It's hard to get an accurate measurement due to the drifting, but it looks like I have about 22" in the low spots and it's still coming down, but the radar indicates it'll be letting up soon. 4X4 or not, the snowblower will be seeing extra duty today. 220 feet of driveway plus a 1200 sq. ft. turnaround will keep me busy. Then I can play. I have 5 miles of private road in my development, so to heck with the snow emergency!

On Saturday, before the "Ice Storm" hit, it was raining all day long, and then quickly froze up once it got dark.
At the time, some things were just fine, and some were slick. Well, I was out in the Focus (POS) heading over to a friends house, and basically found the slick spot while turning.
I was only going 15-20mph. Slid about 30 feet, up and over a curb.
Left with 2 blowouts and a dented rim.

Well, looks like I'll be adding another month to the waiting list before doing any mods to the Runner.

I'd post some pics if I could lift my arms Shoveling a deck and driveway with 18-20" of snow is a little rough. I have a 4ft high mass of snow in my front yard now.

I only sunk the truck once. I did it while I was being a good neighbor by making tracks for others to follow. I temporarily got stuck in a bank of snow from a plow and blowing wind. Not too bad considering I still have the stock Dunlops.

However, once I made tracks all the morons came out. I was amazed at the stupidity of people trying to drive their cars in this stuff. One guy had his wife and kid shoveling to free his car while he sat inside.

Anyway, we have a lot of interesting new medians on our roads. Many abandoned cars are now encased in snow in the middle of the road courtesy of the VDOT snow plows.

I just finished snow blowing 22" of snow out of my driveway and sidewalks. We are running out of places to put the snow. I am now ready for bed. It kicked my butt. I feel bad for the folks that are without a snow blower and have to shovel.

The state plow drivers must be the happiest people alive right now. Since it is a holiday, they are earning TRIPPLE time.

The main snow storm is done. I got about 18 inches total and a possible 1-3 more tonite. I have a huge pile of snow almost as tall the truck.(pics coming soon) I was having a blast driving in it. I was busting thru drifts and where the plows piled up. Just having a good ole time in the snow with the runner.

We got about 22" also. Last similar storm was 1996. Did not have a 4R then and couldnt drive for a week at least. Couldnt even drive my RWD Cutlass if one rear wheel was on an inch of snow. Now driving the 4R in 22" yesterday was a great feeling, worst storm I've had it out in yet!
