S/C Question

S/C Question
My uncle is more of an engineer type guy, and obviously a S/C puts more a bit more strain on the engine. So he was telling me yesterday that it would shorten the life of the engine. How much do you all think it cuts off using premium octane gasoline? Any significant value?
