I scored a good deal thanks to a friend of mine...

Two power door lock actuators for ther door that my alarm system supports. Only $6 Canadian each.

I have the actuators mounted and the relays set up but I need advice on how to run the wires into the door so they don't pich or wear.

If you have ideas or pictures of where the stock door wiring is on a first gen I would appreciate the info

I will post pictures of the set up soon, it was too dark at the time and my digicam had a dead battery.

 

I run wiring into the door through the stock loom using a straightened out coat hanger. Once you thread it through, just tape your wires to it, and pull the hanger out.

Door Lock actuators are pretty easy to install, I used to use locktite, or finger nail polish on the threads of the screws to prevent them from loosening up.

 

If anyone has a 1st GEn with power windows I could really use a pic of where the wires go in the doors

Hey you want a neat trick to get into ANY door through the factory rubber? Go to your local autoparts store and get a piece of 3/8 brake line. Cut it at one end at an angle, then sharpen it with your grinder. YOu can run the wires inside of it, through doors, and since its sharp, you can pierce the firewall and run wires to the engine bay as well. Very cheap, and a must have.

 

Ahhh sorry should have mentioned there is no hole in the door..Ihave to make my own.

 

Hey, that's a pretty good idea. I think i will have to try that when i install my new speaker wires. Right now it is just running beside the factory rubber deal and through the sides of the gromets. (i know...its kinda half assed.)
