Running boards and mud flaps removed... *PICS*

After many "thoughtful suggestions" from my friends on yotatech, I decided to ditch the imfamous running boards. While I was at it, the mudflaps got the axe too:

I'm pretty pleased with the results. Much more ground clearance and sharper appearance I think. PLUS IT DIDN'T COST ME ANY $$$$$

You're gonna want to run outside and kiss that glossy paint good-bye. Soon it will be just a memory...

Definetly get some front flaps for it but they do look so much better sans boards.

i didn't get around to saying it the first time you posted your rig but, LOOKS HOT!

one sweet looking 4runner for sure. as stated above, do get some new mudflaps for the front, it will save your paint. i had a knick here and there before i took my boards off, and after i would see a new one every few days. i went down to advanced auto or O'rielly's and bought some generic black mudflaps and it definitely helped, and they don't look too bad IMO. i still get the occasional chip, but i'll be Herculining the lower part of my 4runner next summer.

man, black is so sexy!

It's kindof surprising just how much better dropping those boards makes a rig look. Nice truck, too!

nice truck!!! looks great...

I'd be nervous about removing my flaps and boards for the fear that rocks and other road debris would trash my paint.

Thats a concern of mine too, but I'll be looking to get front mud flaps and sliders eventually.

To be perfectly honest, I like the running boards. It does look taller without them, but I haven't removed mine (after much contemplation) cuz I like the look better...

I do agree though, Black is dang sexy.

Its actually a '00, but thanks for the compliment I believe you get the front mudflaps off of the tacomas. Anyone correct me if I'm mistaken on this.

Don't take this the wrong way, but, I wouldn't mind taking your runner on a date sometime. Seriously, it makes me hot.

Correct, that's one option to go with. (The other option being something aftermarket.)

They do not offer oem front mud flaps for 4Runners that have the wide ltd/sport style flares...only oem front mud flaps are offered for 4Runners equipped with the slim black flares.
