Rough Running 3.4

Alright guys, first time posting in the tacoma section. I got this truck a few months ago after it had sat for about 3 1/2 years. Put a new battery, alternator, TPS, and plug wires. Also cleaned the throttle body and maf sensor. Yesterday I was pulling a trailer through the field and hit a wet spot, so I got out and unhooked the trailer and locked it in 4x4 . I had kinda dug a hole by then so I was rocking it back and forth and when I punched it forward about 2500 rpms I heard a pop and it came out of 4x4 and started running rough. I locked the transfercase back and it crawls out like magic. So I get back to the house and pop the hood and what looks like cv grease is splattered on the passenger side engine bay and fender well/inner fender. Has a pretty grainy feel to it. Its all over the fender and stuff by my cv is spotless. I also found a vacuum hose on my air box disconencted, reconnected it but it still runs the same. Vacuum gauge via obd2 reads 11.9 in hg. Sitting inside the truck it shakes horrible and very noticable even the steering wheel shakes at idle. No codes logged or pending .Going to check my coils next. Please help, I need this truck to pull a trailer for work, every day down is a payday lost. 2000 Tacoma 3.4 auto manual hubs. Thanks in advance

When my coils/wires were on their last legs, my 4runner stumbled so badly that I was pretty sure I had a drive train problem. As a crude test, I connected my timing light and with the parking brake locked and the wheels chocked, I put the truck in gear (under load) and manually revved the motor while watching the timing light flash on the driveway. The light flashed so erratically that it was immediately obvious which cylinders were misfiring. The truck stumbled so bad it felt like a car w/a race cam at a stop light. Hope that makes sense.
