Question Rotor / Wheel Clearance for 95.5-04 Taco

I've been searching, and havent been able to find a specific answer, thought maybe someone would know. I've got an 04 Tacoma Double Cab, Im going to lift 4 inches, and run 33's. The BF Goodrich Mud Terrains I'm looking at in a 33 10.50, are 15 inch wheel tires. I've heard some that the 95.5-04 Tacomas need 16's to clear the rotors anyone know for sure? I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Some 15s will work and other won't. If you search around on tacomaterritory.com, I think in the wheel and tire section, they had a thread that listed a bunch of 15s, and whether or not they'd clear the rotors like you're talkin about.

If its just backspacing that shouldn't be a problem. Stock is something like 4 and a half inches, or so, I think. So that would be easy to buy wheels with that much backspacing or more....right?

Okay, I have now pretty much reasoned by looking around that 15" wheels will clear on my trucks rotors, but what do I have to do with the backspacing? The wheels I am looking at are Pro Comp Series 1069 15 X 8 with 3.75 inches of backspacing. Anybody know if thats gonna work?

You need to be sure that the 15's will fit your specific '04. If you have the VSC option, you will not be able to fit anything less than 16s without some sort of machining done on the wheels and/or rotors/calipers. The rotors on a VSC equipped truck are 1" larger in diameter than non-VSC. also, the Auto LSD feature of the ABS will tell you if you have the larger rotors. The calipers are the same as the ABS equipped trucks (4piston), but the bracket is not.
That said, if you don't have the VSC and can go with those wheels, 3.75" backspacing will work fine. You'll have some tire/wheel outside the fenders (around 1/4 to 1/2 inch). I run 3 and 5/8" backspacing and 285/75/16. This puts my tread just inside the outer lip of the fender trim, but the sidewall is outside.
