Roof rack removal?

I'm bringing my truck in to get a custom paint job done in the morning. So I pulled off the bug guard and factory roofrack tonight (earlier). It was seriously dirty under that roof rack and the sealant around the screws was ... well, not sealing too well, all the screws were showing the first signs of corrosion.

I'm giving some thought to leaving it off after I get the truck back. I like the way it looks on, but looks arn't everything.

Anyone have any opinions?

I took mine off as well (I don't use it) and really like the way it looks. I went ahead and bought the strips that cover up the holes (standard item on 4Runners w/o roof rack). I paid $44 from Toyota for them.

After having my roof rack removed for me by valets, I now leave it off as I need more room for lower garages (and I park myself now). I use a Thule rack and only put it on when I need it (5-10 mins). The only part that I left on the truck was the rail strips. I like the look of the rack on the truck, but the clean roof is growing on me.
