Question Roof Rack Question

I have the stock roof rails on my 2002 SR5 4Runner. Are there any roof racks out there that will attach to them without having to do any mods to the factory rails? Also, is any one rack better than the other? My 4Runner is primarily driven on-road. Pics would be helpful too so I can try to decide which rack to purchase. Lastly, any suggestions on where to buy the rack from? Thanks!!

by rails you mean the tracks that run the length of the truck, front to back, right?

Thule gear will fit in the factory tracks without any problem. This is the route I went with my roof rack. Take a look at my website for details and pictures.

I have Jackson's setup almost identically.

Check out www.rackattack.com

I bought my Thule gear from them and it was 15% off. Use the THULE product design guide they have listed there and it will pick out the equipment that will fit your vehicle. They have Yakima and some other brands too. They were prompt and had all that I ordered included.

Hope this helps!

I just purchased Yakima Control Towers and Landing Pad #1 for my 2000, and a LoadWarrior. When they arrive next week I will get you some pics. The Control Towers and Landing Pad combo is low profile and solid as a rock (in the other applications I have seen) and mounts in the factory tracks. I would call Yakima and find out which Landing Pad fits your tracks. It is probably the same, but check with them anyway.

You can use the Yakima setup guide on www.rackattack.com which asks for your vehicle, model, year, etc. and what you basically want to use your roof rack for, and it tells you the equipment you need, along with the prices.

Hope this helps!
