Roof Rack Modification?

I want to modify my roof rack to better accomodate the 16' kayak I carry on a regular basis. I thought I might just goto a junk yard and pick up a second rack and add it to my existing setup so it would look like the picture I'm trying to insert :O(

My question is this: How hard is it going to be to install this second rack? I know I'm going to have to drill new holes and I assume take down the head-liner but is there something I'm not thinking of?

In channel

I think it might be easier to mount something in channel rather than bolting/screwing something up on the the cab of the 4Runner like it is in the rear.

I would also check as to where the cross members are on the roof of your 4Runner as that would have something to do with load rating for extending something onto the cab.
