rock-hard PCV: removal advice?
first off, let me say -- as many others have already -- that this board ROCKS! i bought my 93runner about 13 months ago now and YotaTech has been a great source of both information and inspiration. thanks to all of you who keep this forum up-to-date and lively.
i've spent the last year fixing stuff on my runner and doing the routine maintenance that has been probably not been exactly "routine" on my vehicle. the guy i bought it from would NEVER believe it's the same truck he sold me. this baby is born again, i tell ya!
my problem: in the course of all this maintenance, it has come to my attention that my PCV hose is rock-hard and any attempt to remove it is futile. my local toy mechanic (indy specialist and good guy) checked it while he was replacing my belts and said that it's so bad the manifold may need to be removed to get it out.
my question: any tips out there on handling this issue? the rig runs great, so it's definitely not anything that needs to be done ASAP. but i kinda feel like the big tune-up is incomplete without replacing the pcv.
that said, any other things i should make sure i do to keep her running smooth?
