Rim Size Question

i was thinking about getting some black dick cepek rims for my 4runner.

i was wondering if the 16x8 size would be to wide or would it look good.
also what all-terrians would you guys suggest putting on there?

searching thru other threads it seems most people either go with BFG or Nitto.

16x8 is the usual aftermarket 16 width, tons of people run them on here. it shortens your tire a little but in return grants you wider tread. the stance when mounted has to do with backspacing, if that's what you were referring to

and in my opinion, those dc's look too bling for a 4runner, looks like something i would see on either pirelli's if on a runner or inside super swampers on a lifted chevy. who knows, with your current setup though it might look good

yea i haven't had my 4runner for to long now and my dad wouldn't let me get a 4WD since he knew id take it mud riding. theres about 4 other 4runners in town that have been "blinged" out with 22's and what not so i was trying to go for an offroad look. even though i don't think my set up would be as good as most of guys.

im gonna try to 'blacken' mine out a little w/ black brush guard and carbon fiber altezza's.
and thanks huskyrunner. i also have a husky and she want stop shedding, its ridiculous.

I think it'd look real nice with your truck. I seriously (still am) considering going up to that wheel size. It seems there's more tire sizes to choose from in a 16" wheel.
You might look into the Maxxis tires, they've got all terrain and mud tires. My husband puts 80K a year on his work truck (Maxxis tires) and there's hardly any tread wear. Damndest thing I've ever seen. They've got them on Ebay for about $500 (includes shipping) for the 32" tires. You probably won't need anything that big though. I found some Super Swamper radials for $160/tire so I"m deciding between the 2. Here's a picture I found of the Maxxis Bighorn on someone's truck, I like it. Even if you didn't "need" a mud tire, it's still a good solid tire that's good in all weather.
Ok, I'm done flapping my jaws :-)
Hmmm...not sure why the pic doesn't show up, I'll try again.
There's also the plain simple black Cragar soft 8 wheels for $40 each at summitracing.com

For that price i would use them! Where do you get them?

Edit: re-reading that is not $40 :-(, it is the other tire...
