rim question?

I thought i remember reading about a company that made black steel rims in 15" that would fit on our 4runners that originally had 16" rims. I couldnt find anything on this. Is there a company, or am i jsut making this up.

Read Wheelers page carefully...16" wheel equipped Tacos - Yes
16" wheel equipped 4Runners - No, the caliper is bigger on the 4Runners.

Wheelers Wheels

This came up a while back, and I believe an another forum member called them. They tried the 15" on a 4Runner, and it wouldn't clear the caliper.

If those ones don't work then there is no rim that will. I ran into the 15" problem a while ago. My dad had 2 sets of 33x12.50 R15 Super swampers and a set of rims, I quickly found out that they wouldn't work. I decided to downgrade my brakes to fit the rims, most people would say I was dumb but after $80 for calipers and $80 for new rotors, mine were warped anyway, I was able to fit them and I had 2 extra sets of tires.

I wouldn't say you were dumb...I think you just found a way to get around one of our common issues. As long as you know and are comfortable with how your truck brakes, then why worry...
