Well, without knowing what engine you currently have, I would say if you have the 3.0, upgrade to the 3.4L. there have been quite a few posts about the switch. And it is supposed to be fairly easy swap, and moe power.
If you have the 22re, Unless you are considering a rebuild or a new engine, you are going to have to do some mods to get another engine in it. but you can put anything into it, all it takes is time and money. The more money you have, the less time you need, and the other way around
Let us know what you decide.

I would rebuild the engine you have . Check with engnbldr.com about some performance upgrades . Maybe a cam and some head work. IMO its always best to try to rebuild what you have rather than trust another budget rebuild(reman.) Also I would change your gears to 4:88s or 5:29s To compensate for the big tires

thanks for the replys

I want to get a v6 in there and keep it a toyota engine, i have the 22re engine and it is a stud and i hate to get rid of it but it is just not pushing everything well. I dont know if there is any v6 toyota engines that are in the 98-00 years that would fit in there. I would though like to drop a small block 350 but i dont know. What about lockers and trany changes

thanks
