Replacement digital clock?

Anybody got a source for replacement in-dash digital clocks for my 98 4runner? After a few minutes on the net, nothing much is showing up, and I'm sure the dealer wants some stupid amount of $$$ for one.

I just checked for a 4runner, but nothing popped up. I'll keep checking though. NorCalVP, thanks for the offer, but it wouldn't be much cheaper than a brand new one from the dealership.

Ok, no prob. just thought i'd offer. The cheapest new one i found a few months ago was $179.92, they normally list for $230.67. I'll probably just put it up on E-bay anyway.

Does it look like this one?

They don't list it for a '98 4Runner...but they do offer it for the same year Tacoma. You would think they were the same...

Heh...$65 is a HELL of a deal!!!!!!! 3rd gen clock go for $150+ on ebay and dealers want well over that. Someone reported $300 on ODW the other week: http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showfl...5&o=31&fpart=1

Unbelievable! That's a synthetic winch line or any number of other goodies I'd want to buy. Hell, for 5 bucks I'll duct tape a Kmart watch to the dash, a la Red Green.

same thing with my 98, the clock died about 6 months ago. if i tap it hard enough it will come back, then just die again. ive tapped it so hard before that the clock fell back behind the dash.
i was hoping to get a replacement cheap, not good news

Casey! No friggin way, mine was doing the same thing! I tapped it for a while to get it back on, and the last time it just punched back behind the dash. It was done for good then. Even something that's reasonably close would probably work, just tape it, affix it somehow into the stock hole.

If you go for something non-stock...I would look at something that auto-sets itself from the atomic clock. Maybe even something with temperature, barometer, altimeter, etc...

Thanks for the pics Jim. Definitely not the same as my 4runner. My clock sits above the controls for the heater controls, not near the ignition switch like yours.

I've been scrounging around e-bay for about 2 months now, and have yet to come up with a 3rd gen clock, all 2nd or 1st gens. i refuse to pay 100+ for a new clock that is so small.
