Removed catalytic converter on 3VZ (Not recommended)

Took my cat out yesterday and had a cheater pipe made up at a muffler shop. I definitly noticed a power gain (mostly top end) and it's much louder. Sounds pretty cool since I already have a 2.5" cat back borla system. The only major problem about this mod is that it polutes twice as much. When driving around town with the back window open, or on the freeway for that matter it stinks pretty bad. Pure raw fumes. I'm definitly going to put the cat back on and don't recommend this mod, unless you drive with the back window closed all the time.

Mike.

Have you looked into a hi flow cat? Does the same job with lower back pressure.
