Remote transmission Filter ??
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has used one of these transmission remote filter kits on their 3rd gen 4runners. My main concern is; do they restrict or change the preasure of the oil but any feedback would me appreciated.

I went over a buddies yesterday and we dropped the pan, changed the filter and did a trans flush, he has a lift. He is a nice guy but not the neatest guy on the planet and after we got it back together I remembered that the dipstick tube did not get cleaned out. He used a wire bush to get the old gasket material off the pan and his parts washer fluid was filthy so I sprayed out the pan with brake clean after he was done but forgot the tube. If any of the crud did get washed into the tube, I'm not sure that the screen will pick it up so I thought I'd add the remote filter.
Did the "Lifetime" gas filter while it was up there...
Thanks
Doug

I'm not aware of any manufacturers who use a spin-on type filter for the transmission. There is probably a reason for that. Restriction would be a concern of mine.
Don't obsess about not cleaning out the dipstick tube. Particles that are too small to be caught by the screen are not a concern of Toyota and neither should they be for you.
