Receding dashboard 2003 4runner
Hi All,
Anybody else have any problem with a receding dashboard? The driver side of the dashboard is pulling away from the door post. (see picture).

Dang.... I guess they do not make them like they used to....
seriously, Darkstar, where are you? Is this a case of extreme heat combined with other factors, or just a defective dash?

I'll go on a dealer run and see if any of their runners out in the sun have a similar issue.

Mine sits in the sun, exposed all day long everyday for a year. It doesn't have that shrinkage at all.
The dash is the soft-touch, cushy material and maybe it is a manufacturing defect where they didn't inject enough into the mold? Anyway, they should replace that under warranty.

Indeed, don't bother waiting until next time, have it taken care of right now. That is definitely a production flaw that needs to be looked into. It'll most likely be a dash replacement or something. (it'll be under warranty so it's best taken care of asap).
