i have a 88 4runner and i just took of my soft top(which is for sale by the way --> http://www.4x4wire.com/cgi-bin/ultim...=002868#000000 )and i put the hard top back on. now the rear window doesnt work.. the back door light is always on.. i know i have every conector together on the rear! i even tock the rear latch apart where it has the switch to see is that was the problem but thats not it... i even but the blue and the white wires to try to trick it in to thinking it was closed.. still no dice! should there be something up front that could be mested up thati should be lookin for? HELP PLEASe!!! thanks yal...

 

i had a problem with my switch the one up front on my 87 4 runner , there is a way to by pass it , but i cant remeebr exactly how i did it , you run a jumper cable from one point to another on the switch and it will roll up , if everything is hooked up right and you have power to the switch up front , then you should be able to do the jump. if thats the case youll need a new switch , and if i remeber right there are a bit spendy . not your typical switch its a odd 3 way rocker type , and the 4 runners use an open ground type switch , where theres power all the time , and it opens and closes the ground to actuate power to rear window motor. so try and jump the ground points on the switch.

 

got it.... sensor on the left door lach.. took it apart and then made a new contact out of a 1/8" peice of nail.. hahah getto riggin! woeks like a champ!
