Rear wheel bearings?? - 4runner

- 97 4runner with 99 rear axle housing and elocker -

I noticed a rear end popping noise when my frame flexes, ie going slow through a pot hole at 1-2 mph. So I started checking around my rig and when I grab the rear wheel and start pushing on it just enough to get the cab to rock, i feel a little thud like metal on metal. I think it means my rear wheel bearing is bad. Does this sound right? I can get the noise when I rock the rig from both sides. Both bearings then?

I also notice the same pop only louder when making a right turn after a stop.

so before the swap I had bad axle bearings. I found a good deal on axle and e locker so i did the swap and got rid of the bad axel bearings. The whine that was present is now gone.
