Rear Wheel Bearing replacement - how?

Rear Wheel Bearing replacement - how?
Hi all,
I tried to search for a write-up on this topic, but was not able to find all the answers I was looking for.
I was wondering if someone would be able to give me a few pointers on replacing my rear wheel bearing (outer).
I have a 98 4RNR SR5 4WD.
The bearing has needed replacing for a while now, but I havent had the time to look into it.
Last weekend, I took it apart, and
1. confirmed that the rear right bearing was VERY loose. Also, I
2. found that I have no idea what the next step to removing the bearing is.
The issues I have are:
(a) how do I remove the shaft from the rest of the assy? on the in-board side of the bearing, the gear for the ABS sensor is in the way. on the outboard, the hub assy. Which do I take these off, and how?
(b) Then, how do I remove the bearing? Is this something I can do at home? or do I need a press?
Thanks you for your help.

1) there are quite a few threads out there...
yes youll need a press....
4 nuts on the back, and the brake line need to come off... then the whole drum, axle, backing plate as a unit comes slides out of the axle. (watch the seal on the tube)
when you do that, youll see the bearing on the back side of the backing plate.
C-clip - retainer (pressed) - bearing (pressed)- backing plate - front flange
Service manual calls for cutting the retaining sleave off and putting a new one on.

Snap,
I got as far as sliding it out of the axle.
Hmmm.. I dont remember seeing a c-clip (dont ask how I could have missed it)
So the c-clip is between the gears for the ABS and the bearing?
Sorry, I am feeling lost.
the Haynes manual i am using only says to take it into a shop...
thanks
