Rear hitch carrier

I'm ordering a cargo carrier that goes into the rear hitch receiver and is rated up to 500lbs. Anyone have any experience with these as far as not torquing the receiver/hitch out of alignment. I need to carry gas cans to and from the airport for AV gas for a modified jetski as well as other "stuff" I'd rather not have inside the vehicle. If anyone is interested, Harbor Freight sells one that is 20 x 60 for $59.99 with free shipping. Won't know the quality until it gets here. I know it will adversely impact the angle of approach for steep hills offroad but I would remove it for that anyway. TIA for any feedback.

I'm thinking of getting the same thing for a roadtrip.
I have a bike hitch rack (3 mtbikes @ 30lbs each, rack @45-50lbs + standing on it-1 person @150lbs) no problems at all.

You will need alot more than 500lbs to torque a hitch receiver. I've seen motorcycles on those carriers with gas cans.

The only thing you have to watch for is the ground clearance thing but you already know that.

Might be handy to have one that flips up & out of the way if there is such a thing. Not a big deal tho.
