Okay I've been trying to get the sensor out for the last 1/2 hr... how does it come out?! I've tried twistying pulling and prying... doesn't seem to be anything to get a wrench around, but maybe i just couldn't feel it... anyone know?

Update.

Allright All Ye Doubters... it was the sensor, the diff lock works fine. I replaced the sensor and it works perfectly. Replacing the sensor took about 15 mins and was extreemly easy... getting the part was expensive however.

So it is possible for the sensor to fail
