yea, I saw that later. for the inner I use the $6 harbor freight seal driver kit to pound it in. it's got a disc a hair smaller OD than the seal that works perfect. the outer is just a paind because of all the press work.
20 minutes is pushing it though. you gotta undo the 4 nuts, undo the brake line, undo the ebrake cable. pull axle. pull old seal. pound in new seal. put axle back in, torque all nutz, hookup brake line, hook up ebrake cable, bleed brake. it's alot more than 20 minutes of work.
I also forgot to mention to go ahead and grab a new oring for the housing/flange mate. the old one will be triangular and won't do very well anymore and is only a few bucks at the stealer and should be replaced anyway.

yep, longer than 20 min for sure...I forgot about the o ring. I tried using the 54mm socket as mentioned somewhere and it worked pretty well you just have to have it straight on or it will bend the seal. I'll have to check harbor for that driver kit

Where did you have the work done? If it were me I'd take it back and have them do it again....it's an easy job to screw up. If they rested your axle on that seal as they slid it back in then that can screw up the seal all by it's self.

sorry...I also meant to say that I think the breather is on the top left of the rear diff if you're standing behind the truck, but I'm telling you the mech that did the work probably messed it up.

I had the same thing happen on my '90 4runner. It sucked. I didn't bother with doing it myself. I cost me something like $450 to get the job done at a local place in Boulder. I'm somewhat mechanical, but the pressing thing/torquing thing seemed like too much work to me. And, they did the job right. I just dropped it off and picked it up...less $450....of course.
