Radiator Hose Question
I ordered some new radiator hoses to replace the old ones on my 81 Toyota 4x4. What was funny is that the lower hose when I removed it had a spring looking wire in there but my new one does not have one in it. What is the purpose of the wire in there and is it necessary?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Greetings,
You can get the braided stainless looking covers for hoses at PEP Boys. They sell kits with the stainless braided hose, the Aluminum clamps that actually just cover the hose clamps. I don't think they are expensive either.
Oh yea, I agree, put the spring into the hose, it can't hurt
