I was cleaning my K&N FIPK today and got a little carried away detailing the engine compartment. I was doing a little poking around under there and came across something I never realized before. In front of my radiator there is a couple of inches of space, then what looks like another radiator with an electric fan on the front. What is this thing? It's got to be bigger than my radiator. It's not a tranny cooler is it? Any ideas?

 

Yeah I noticed the same thing a few months ago while I was checking the mail, and I walked in front of my Runner and noticed that there's a little fan spinning on the passenger side of the grill (inside) so I popped the hood when I got in the drive way and there's another little radiator there with a fan on it.

I wish I knew what it's for I don't want to poke around with it too much just in case I blow something up :eek:

Maybe it's just a little back-up radiator in case the main one blows up?

*EDIT* I just looked through my Chilton's Guide, and it doesn't show anything as to what it is. So the mystery continues :beaver:

It should be the A/C CONDENSER.:pat:

 

Ooooohhhhhhh!!! That makes sense :pat: I didn't even think about that (My AC hasn't worked since I bought the truck, I think I just need to get it recharged... So I don't even think about my truck's AC) Hmmmmmm now I'm curious to see if I'll be able to recharge my AC myself, I'll have to look into it
